An actor getting into character requires tremendous amount of mental and physical dedication. And to be able to sustain that dedication for years to come distinguishes a fabulous actor from good actors. Being able to photograph Nakuul Mehta gives me the opportunity to study this dedication in an actor. That has also given me the privilege to associate with other dedicated actors with whom he collaborates.
Nakuul Mehta collaborates with actor Manish Gandhi who also directed this bold and intelligent play. I was given exclusive access to the green room where they prepared for the play for three consecutive evenings. Director Manish Gandhi briefs them again about the intricacies and the soul of each character. After which the actors mentally and physically transform themselves. These photographs document their transformation.
